Your Cedaroak PTA
Who are the folks in your Cedaroak PTA? They're parents, teachers, alumni students, extended family, and neighbors. Cedaroak PTA members are people interested in the quality of our student's experience, our school, and our neighborhood.
What does your Cedaroak PTA do? We offer direct support to teachers, fund programs like our incredible gardens, and buy equipment for PE and the Library. What we do is find a need and solve that need. Learn more about how we raise funds, our committees, and how you can volunteer to be a part of it all.
Why join your Cedaroak PTA? The work we do is something no one person could accomplish on their own. It takes a community with diverse interests pitching in where they can. Your PTA creates the village that helps raise our kids and strengthen our community. We link families to important school and community information. We host fun, educational clubs, programs and events for everyone. With your help we raise money to suport the specific needs of our school. Your PTA is active in school safety iniitatives. With volunteer help we offer opportunitiesto explore the arts, develop critical thinking, teamwork and creativity. We inspire a love of reading and enhance student's book and literacy options. The larger network of PTA in Oregon, and nationally, tracks local, state and national policies every day so we can advocate for what's best for students, schools, families.
Your Cedaroak PTA believes we can make every child's potential a reality. But we need help. We need you. Join the PTA and make a difference.
Become a PTA Member
Everyone is welcome to join, including extended family and our local community members. Your membership will give you the voting power to decide the PTA board members and to have a voice on how our funds are spent to enhance our children’s education experience. Your membership also helps the State and National PTA have a voice advocating for education. Come make some new friends and be a part of your child’s experience at Cedaroak. Monthly meeting attendance is not mandatory, but you are always welcome because we would appreciate and value your input.
To become a member simply fill out the online PTA form and submit it along with your annual $15 membership fee.
We have several Fundraising Opportunities that we would encourage you to participate in. They help support the many programs we provide to our school.

Your Cedaroak PTA is the hub between needs and solutions. Some committees are short term and some last years depending on their goals. A committee is a group of people working together towards a goal. Below are a few of your Cedaroak PTA committes.
Trex Recycling - We are competing with schools our size across CO, ID, MT, OR, WA and WY to recycle the most plastic. Top school gets a Trex bench! Bring plastic grocery bags, bread bags, ziplock bags, produce bags and bubble wrap to the white Trex bins near the front office, Discovery Square and the cafeteria.
Coat Drive - Donate your gently used coats for the Clackamas County PTA Clothing Closet. Donations bins are in Discovery Square. Coats must be new or gently used with zippers, buttons, or velcro in good condition. Coats with holes will not be accepted. All sizes needed. The PTA Clothes Closet provides clothing and personal items to school children in our community. Open to families identified by their school as in need of assistance. Open to all school districts throughout Clackamas County. For more about the PTA Clothes Closet visit facebook.com/ptaclothescloset/
Costume Swap - Donate a gently used costume in September! A donation allows you to “shop” for a new-to-you costume at no cost on Friday, Sept. 28th. If you have no costume to donate, you can still “shop” for just $5 payable only if you find something. No hats or wigs. No scary items or weapons. We cannot guarantee every child will find a costume they love, but most participants last year walked away with something fun from the swap!
Fun Run - Walk, run, and have some fun with you student on Friday, October 5 during school hours. Last year students raised over $12,000 to help fund our garden, new technology, art and music programs, assemblies and much more. Every student receives a prize. We are still looking for donations from local businesses and day-of-event volunteers. Envelopes go home this week or donate at squareup.com/store/FunRun
Monster Mash - Come and boogie down at our Monster Mash dance party! The monster mash will be on October 26th, from 5:30-7:30pm. Students (and parents) can come dressed in their costumes. There will be a costume parade and dancing! We will also have a movie in the library for quiet time. Food will be available in the cafeteria for purchase. This is a no-fee event. Contact Mary Sandera if you can help with this event. Volunteers are needed to make this a fun and successful night!
Auction - Love to decorate? Have a flair for entertaining? Have connections within our community? Like some adult time with other Cedaroak parents? Come share ideas, make some new friends, help us plan and host the party of the year: Cedaroak’s 2019 Auction!
Dine Out - Eat out and raise money for your PTA.
Art Literacy - You don't have to be knowledgeable about art or be a great artist yourself to be a part of Art Literacy! All you need is a desire to help children and have fun. Depending on the grade level, Art Literacy volunteers can either present a program about an artist or help in their child's classroom as a helper the day of the presentation. Come see what Art Literacy is all about!
Hospitality - Taking care of teacher appreciation and general goodness.
Garden - Join the PTA Garden Committee for a family-friendly event where we meet and work in the gardens. These events are organized by grade level but all are welcome. There will be specific work projects and a potluck at the end to celebrate. Come out and show your community spirit, meet other families, and help maintain our gardens. Bring your work gloves. Please sign-up with your teacher. No homemade food please. For more information, visit the Gardens’ website: https://www.copgardens.org/
Sustainability - Recycle and learn about the ECO Schools program.
